San Diego County Mountains-

An stubborn and energetic wildfire is burning in the eastern San Diego mountains, threatening nearby homes and towns.  The fire which began Sunday, July 23rd was at nearly 17,000 acres by Wednesday evening.  Hundreds of firefighters and several aircraft have been working the fire for three days with nearly triple digit temperatures and windy conditions.  Erratic winds have been pushing the fire in all directions.  The fire was 15 percent contained by Wednesday evening but higher winds are forecast for overnight.
