Scotland Visit '02
On Market Street, next to Waverley Bridge, is the Edinburgh Dungeon. With exhibits including the murderers and grave robbers Burke and Hare, Robert the Bruce's heart and a reconstruction of the cave which was home to the notorious cannibal Sawney Bean, the dungeon is designed to terrorize tourists by taking them on a ride through the gory elements of Scotland's past. Other thrills include the Old Town of Edinburgh as it was centuries ago, complete with dirt, disease, waste being thrown from a tenement window and the 'body cart' waiting to pick up the unfortunate victims of plague. Also portrayed is the medical history of the city with reenactments of early attempts at surgery. Sounds fun, lets go!
Well you know, you just can't go anywhere with Jen, while minding our own business at the Dungeon, wouldn't you know it, Jen was arrested and convicted of public indecency and in sighting a riot at the Edinburgh Burger King. She was charged with smashing her naked upper torso on the front window of said establishment at high noon! Lucky for her, Sean & I were able to help her escape her imprisonment in the Dungeon! Oh the SHAME!
After making our daring escape we decided to check out the sights the city had to offer...
Some sights just stood out more than others...
